About Terry

With over 16 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, Terry’s passion is rooted in understanding the amazingly complex human body and how profoundly simple it is to optimize our life to increase longevity and happiness.

With a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, Terry has paved his own path in understanding movement beyond the commercial paradigms that most of us fall into. He is a Certified Fitness Coach, with a holistic approach, as well as a Licensed Massage Therapist, Thai MassageTherapist, Traditional Indian Yoga Teacher, and Whole Food-Earth friendly Food Advisor. His own 15 yr  journey of self healing has inspired a unique wellness approach, combining a variety of knowledge sources, philosophies and theories. As a result, the Uma theory is a very grounded, dynamic approach to help you understand your own bodies natural rhythm, alignment and healing mechanisms.

I no longer experience lower back pain and have become incredibly flexible. Terry’s classes are also an excellent way to reduce stress and to relax amidst busy weeks. I highly recommend Terry as a yoga teacher and personal trainer!

I've taken many yoga classes with various instructors over the years and Terry is my absolute favorite. We all missed him when he left our local gym, so I was super excited when I learned that he began offering online classes. 2020 has been a challenging year, but Terry's Yin Yoga classes have been something that I look forward to three times/week. He is an extremely talented instructor who is patient, creative and knowledgeable. Classes are always the perfect blend of being well planned, but also spontaneous, while exploring new poses and revisiting familiar ones. I can't recommend Terry’s Yin Yoga classes enough! Trust me, you don't have to be fit or flexible to enjoy these classes, but you will surprise yourself by how your fitness and flexibility improves over time!

I’ve had the honor to work with Terry in all three fields of Yoga, Massage and Fitness and have truly experienced Terry’s unique linage of expertise. His very informative fitness training, helped me with an injured knee and keep me moving well beyond recovery. I have found his style of massage totally unique and relaxing yet so helpful in the way he can pin point and relieve any troubled areas.

I have been working out with Terry for the past two years focusing on yoga and strength training. I very much enjoy our workouts and my strength and flexibility/mobility have improved a great deal. Terry ensures that I’m using the proper form and will push me to do more but he knows my limitations.  He is also aware of the areas that I need to work on that are important for me to maintain my lifestyle.

Terry always checks in before we start a workout. He adjusts the workout if I have any issues, e.g. my golfer’s elbow is bothering me, or I if I want to work on a particular area of the body.  He is always reading and learning new things in the health and fitness world and provides great information during the workout.

I highly recommend training with Terry and plan to continue my workouts with him for the foreseeable future!
